Learn a systematic technique for relieving your body tension and calming your nerves!

STRESS REDUCTION THROUGH SYSTEMATIC RELAXATION

Learning to relax and let go of tension is both an art and a science.  Understanding the mind-Body relationship is imbedded in the knowledge gained through 3,000 years of Eastern philosophical study on the altered state of consciousness.

Over the past 50 years, Western science has studied and assimilated the knowledge of Mind-Body interactions to develop a systematic approach to the reduction of physical tension and emotional distress.

Aspen Counseling Center’s systematic approach to relaxation involves the following procedures:

  1. Deep Breathing, Focused Breathing, and Referenced Breathing  Techniques
  2. Visualization and Imaginal Relaxation Procedures
  3. Full-Body Striated Muscle Relaxation
  4. Deep Muscle, Tendon and Ligament Relaxation
  5. European Relaxation Strategies
  6. Sooth and Calm Nerve Centers
  7. Develop an Individualized Relaxation Script

Systematic relaxation techniques can be used in the morning, at work, or before going to bed.  They can be used to lower anxiety before you begin a difficult day or release stress after a trying one.  Use these strategies to help conquer insomnia, lower blood pressure or to control an angry temperament.
